African Youth Rehabilitation Initiative (AYRI) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) duly registered under part “C” of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) of Federal Republic of Nigeria 1990 on July 20, 2006.
AYRI is a proactive not-for-profit organization with the primary focus of rehabilitating youths in Nigeria and Africa, at large. Thus, we identify gaps in community youth development and proffer intervention programmes aimed at alleviating and eradicating roadblocks to ensure efficient youth maturity and inclusion. AYRI seeks to offer the youth of Africa the needed hope, confidence, and the tools needed to aspire for the highest realms of achievement in any chosen endeavor.
To empower young men and women in Africa with the abilities and opportunities to determine their own future through enlightenment, exposure, correction and mentoring.
1. To establish a forum for youth training and development.
2. To re-orientate youth priorities to reflect moral values, character, hard work and cultural ethics.

The University was established as a non residential multi-campus institution. On establishment, the University which was conceived on a Presidential model after Harvard University made impressive landmarks and stamped its name as the first University of Technology and first State University in Nigeria with her main campus at Enugu. Other campuses that were created later were located at Abakiliki, Awka and Nnewi. At inception, only three faculties namely, Engineering, Science and Technology
in the faculty of Agriculture & natural resources managment there are 4(four) department;
To be premier university in Africa in capacity development that promotes services to the society through quality teaching, research and community service.
To promote scholarship, especially in the areas of Science, Management and Technology, thereby ensuring the development of quality manpower that will utilize technology for the service of society.
